Katsura, Cercidiphyllum japonicum, is a medium to large tree native to China and Japan with a beautiful shape and lovely, small, heart-shaped leaves that emerge flushed with burgundy, age to blue-green, and then turn shades of pink, red, orange and yellow in autumn when the leaves can give off a lovely burnt caramel aroma.
