‘Yume’ is an amazing hybrid that will bloom from November to February in coastal BC. It has single flowers with a sweet fragrance that can be white, glowing pink, light pink or a mix of all three colours. Every flower is different. It has a low, spreading habit growing eventually to five feet tall and wide. Though it is a hybrid of C. yuhsienensis and C. hiemalis, it functions very much in the garden like a Camellia sasanqua. Camellias appreciate rich, acidic, moist, well-draining soils. Use in the light shady garden as an accent or specimen plant or in containers and as cut flowers. Somewhat deer resistant. Plant in a protected location in zone 7.
