Caladium ‘Frieda Hemple’

Caladium 'Frieda Hemple' has arrow-shaped leaves filled with dark red and scarlet main veins surrounded by a bright green margin.

Caladium ‘Frieda Hemple’ is a dramatic foliage plant with arrow-shaped leaves filled with dark red and scarlet main veins surrounded by a bright green margin. This cultivar is fairly sun tolerant but can also grow in full shade. Not hardy for any of us but it’s easy to save the corms over winter (at 10 degrees Celsius) and bring them out in spring. Caladium love heat. Best to start indoors and move outside once nighttime temperatures are above 15 degrees Celsius. Use as mass plantings or in containers and hanging baskets or as year round houseplants.
