Begonia xanthina

Begonia xanthina has magnificent mottled foliage that changes through the growing season along with yellow flowers.

Begonia xanthina will draw you into its powers of illusion with its magnificent mottled foliage that changes colours through the growing season along with chimes of yellow flowers rising above the foliage. Leaves are about 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 inches across and a wee bit shorter in length. This is a cold hardy variety that will lose its leaves in winter, going dormant until late spring. Grow in sandy soil and leaf mulch in equal parts with good moisture. Awesome in a container and as a houseplant or up against a stone wall or on slopes.
