Begonia listada

Begonia listada is is a tender begonia from Brazil with striking dark green velvety leaves with a lighter green stripe and light pink flowers.

Begonia listada as a houseplant is sure to brighten up any shady nook. Its got everything going for it with dramatic dark green velvety elliptical leaf blades aided by a striking bright broad stroke of lime-green running down the centre. The undersides are rich mahogany. Delicate pink buds and stems and single white petals rise above the foliage with happy lemon-yellow centres. Can reach up to 20 inches high. Requires well-drained humus rich soil, high humidity and light. Grows horizontal for hanging baskets, or can be staked. Ideal by a south/east window that gets lots of light but not direct sunlight.
