Baptisia ‘Lemon Meringue’

Baptisia 'Lemon Meringue' is a false indigo with bright yellow lupin-like flowers open from dark buds atop bluish green foliage.

Impressively vigorous compared to other yellow Baptisia, ‘Lemon Meringue’ forms an upright, vase-shaped mound of attractive blue-green foliage topped with long, charcoal stems carrying charcoal buds and lemon yellow flowers. The cultivars of the Decadence Series from breeder Hans Hansen were selected specifically for their shorter, more compact habit and unique flower colours. Baptisia are like perennial lupins. Though they are herbaceous they act much like a shrub for design purposes. Pollinator attractor. Deer resistant.
