Baptisia ‘Indigo Spires’ is an lovely false indigo with 12 to 15 inch long, deep violet purple flower spikes and contrasting yellow keels giving a bi-colour effect. Very floriferous. Fully rounded clump of glaucous green foliage leaves leave no room for exposed stems. Growth habit is 42 to 48 inches tall and 42 inches wide. Use in the border, specimen or focal point. Drought tolerant once established. Baptisia are like perennial lupins and do not like to be moved once established. Though they are herbaceous they act much like a shrub for design purposes. Nitrogen-fixer. Pollinator attractor. Deer resistant.
