By early summer, contrasting and strikingly beautiful indigo blue flowers emerge on yellow stems that rise up just above the foliage. A more compact habit as well 30 to 36 inches tall and wide. Baptisia are like perennial lupins. Though they are herbaceous they act much like a shrub for design purposes and are long-lived.
