Aster divaricatus ‘Eastern Star’
Aster divaricatus 'Eastern Star' is a shade aster with jet black stems and clouds of tiny white flowers in fall.

Aster divaricatus ‘Eastern Star’, the white wood aster, now known scientifically as Eurybia divaricata, was originally discovered in coastal Rhode Island. It is shorter than the standard species and has deep, dark, shining, mahogany-black stems. The small but numerous white flowers have yellow centres that age to burgundy red. A must for the shade garden and tolerant of dry shade which makes it a real bonus. Can also be grown in sunny conditions with even moisture where plants will be more upright.
