Amorphophallus bulbifer Pink with Blotches

This form of Amorphophallus bulbifer has intense stem markings and more pink in the spathes than the species.

This form differs from the species Amorphophallus bulbifer in having longer stems with more intense stem markings, bigger flowers with more of a pink flush to the spathes and less spots, and larger, more ribbed foliage. The bulb will go dormant by fall. Bring the pot inside to a cool, dry place. Begin watering when you see the spike of the tightly-furled stem poking out of the soil in spring. Also available: The still intriguing normal form.
