Alstroemeria ‘Summer Saint’ is a cold hardy Peruvian lily to that has performed well in trials over many years in zone 5b. Beautiful mauve-pink flowers with creamy-yellow throats and dark markings are held on tall stems up to 30 inches tall blooming continuously from early summer to frost. Modern cultivars are mainly clumping to slowly spreading but will not be invasive. Wonderful in the mixed border, in containers, and long lasting in vases. Pull stems instead of cutting to encourage a quicker reflush. In colder zones, mulch clumps with a foot of fallen leaves or grow in pots and protect in a frost-free location for winter. Attracts pollinators. Deer resistant.
