Alstroemeria ‘Summer Heat’
Alstroemeria 'Summer Heat' is a cold hardy Peruvian lily with red petals, yellow throats and dark markings on tall stems.

Alstroemeria ‘Summer Heat’ is a cold hardy Peruvian lily able to withstand zone 6 in well-drained soils with winter protection. Beautiful hot red blooms contrast with bright yellow throats and dark markings on tall stems reaching 36-42 inches tall. Blooms continuously from early summer to frost. Modern cultivars are mainly clumping to slowly spreading but will not be invasive. Wonderful in the mixed border, in containers, and long lasting in vases. Pull stems instead of cutting to encourage a quicker reflush. In colder zones, mulch clumps with a foot of fallen leaves or grow in pots and protect in a frost-free location for winter. Attracts pollinators. Deer resistant.
