Allium ‘Medusa’s Hair’

Allium 'Medusa's Hair' is an ornamental onion with snake-like, green foliage and purple flower spheres.

Allium ‘Medusa’s Hair’ has crazy gray-green leaves that twist like a snake and the nodding buds look like snakes rising out of the foliage, hence the cultivar name. This effect gives way when the flowers open into beautiful spherical lavender-purple balls up to 2 inches wide. Ornamental onions provide a flower display unlike most other perennials and are useful for contrasting flower shapes in the garden. This is a clumping, non-bulbous, summer-blooming cultivar. Pollinator magnet. Deer and rabbit resistant.
