Allium ‘Magic’
Allium 'Magic' is an ornamental onion with half spheres of bold magenta-purple flowers.
‘Magic’ is the result of a cross of Allium schubertii with its awesome firework inflorescence and A. atropurpureum with its sphere of dark purple-magenta flowers. It has heads of bold magenta-purple flowers held in half spheres with just a hint of that firework effect as the flowers age. Few plants can offer the unique flower forms of ornamental onions. Every garden should have Allium. Plant in multiples of 3, 5, 7 or more. Don’t fret when foliage starts to die back just before flowering. It’s normal. Just trim the leaves.
