Allium cepa ‘Sturon’ is an award-winning Spanish onion that is sweet and full-flavoured offering great versatility. This cultivar produces large, globe-shaped bulbs with straw coloured skin and yellow flesh. May be harvested while green or left to mature in 80 to 100 days. Offers excellent winter storage qualities. Boil, roast, fry or eat raw to enhance the flavour of diverse dishes. Plant in spring for a late summer harvest. Stop watering in August and harvest when tops have wilted and turned brown. Eat fresh or cure for storage.
