Allium beesianum has nodding umbels of blue, bell shaped flowers that bloom above grass-like foliage from August to October. Native to the slopes and meadows of Sichuan and Yunnan in China, it is rare, unique and can be slow to bulk up. It appreciates fertile soil, part sun, and moisture while in summer growth. Few plants can offer the unique flower forms of ornamental onions.
