Akebia quinata ‘Silver Bells’

Akebia 'Silver Bells' is a Chocolate vine with attractive leaves and vanilla-scented, white and purple flowers.

This Akebia is a decorative twining climber with attractive leaves and delicious vanilla-scented flowers instead of the common chocolate vine scent. The leaves are divided into five leaflets which emerge with a tinge of purple fading to bluish-green. ‘Silver Bells’ has white bell-shaped flowers that open to reveal deep purple flower interiors. Female flowers may present themselves as a dull rose to purple, star-shaped flower. A vigorous grower reaching heights and spreads up to 15 feet.
