Agave x leopoldii ‘Hammer Time’

‘Hammer Time’ is a variegated selection of this species with narrow chartreuse to gold margins to its dark green leaves. A further thin white line and curling filifers outline and “sproing” from each leaf. The leaf tips have a sharp cinnamon terminal spine. This cultivar only grows to about eight to 12 inches tall and wide and so is an excellent collector’s agave that can be easily displayed on the patio in summer and protected in winter. Hardy on the west coast if kept dry and out of the rain.
