Agave stricta var. rubra, known as the red hedgehog agave, is a fascinating variety with long, narrow, stiff, quill-like leaves forming an impressive textural sphere 1-2 feet across. Under good conditions plants have green to grey-green foliage but with stress from heat, sun, or cold the foliage can develop bold colours of red. These are 5 year old plants we grew from seed at Phoenix. Quantities and supply are limited.
