Acer x conspicuum ‘Phoenix’
This magnificent tree is a hybrid snakebark maple with coral-red to red winter bark with silvery striations. The bark colours up earlier, takes on deeper colours, and maintains colour longer into the spring than the coralbark maple ‘Sango Kaku’. Through late spring and summer the bark takes on tones of apricot and yellow again with the silvery striations. Large green leaves turn golden yellow in fall.
