Acer palmatum 'Fireglow' is a heat-tolerant Japanese maple with pinkish-red leaves in spring becoming purple-red in fall.

‘Fireglow’ is a low-maintenance Acer palmatum that can take the heat. This large, upright and bushy Japanese maple makes for a striking ornamental shrub or small tree whether in beds or containers. Leaves first emerge pinkish-red in spring gradually darkening to dark red in summer before turning a stunning purple-red in fall. Small purple flowers appear in spring with winged red fruits in autumn. Tolerates full sun but best leaf colour is in partial shade. Mulch to help keep roots cool.
