Acer campestre ‘Carnival’

Acer campestre 'Carnival' makes a stunning container or garden specimen with its compact size and variegated leaves.

Acer campestre is a tough and adaptable species from Europe that grows into a small rounded tree. Its variegated cultivar ‘Carnival’ makes a stunning specimen in a container or the garden with its small, deeply dissected, blue-green leaves flushed pink when young expanding to reveal variable creamy white edges to dramatic effect. Fall foliage is light yellow with white margins. Slow-growing. Grow in sun to part shade but best to avoid hot afternoon sun. More often listed as hardy to zone 5 but some sources suggest zone 4. For the 2025 Rare Flowering Tree Pre-Order plants will be in 1g pots and about 1-2 feet tall.
