West Coast Natives

Celebrate BC native plants, our near-natives from the West Coast of North America, and our “nativars” or cultivars of our native plants. Our bioregion that runs from California through BC to Alaska has much shared ecology in plants, insects, and animals. Help support this complex web of life by including these plants in your garden. For 2025 we have included new information in each plant profile on which plants support pollinators and which are larval hosts for butterfly and moth caterpillars. For BC and western gardeners, we hope you can use this information to select plants to help better connect your garden to the wider ecology around you.

20% of the profits of our BC native plants are donated each year to the First Nations and Endangered Languages Program at the Centre for Critical Indigenous Studies at the University of British Columbia. Your purchase will help support and enhance First Nations languages in BC. Thank you!
