Avoid heavy clay soils, as they retain excessive moisture and can lead to root rot. Raised beds or well-amended garden soil can improve drainage and aeration.

Consistent moisture is key to healthy lisianthus plants, but overwatering should be avoided. Water deeply when the top inch of soil feels dry, ensuring the roots receive adequate hydration. Drip irrigation or watering at the base of the plants helps prevent fungal diseases by keeping foliage dry.
