This intriguing aster relative emerges from the ground like a fuzzy mushroom crossed with a rocket ship then it opens into a multi-spoked wheel of leaflets or like an umbrella after one of BC's winter windstorms! Grown for its mounds of intriguing foliage, this species is flexible for a variety of conditions including dry shade! Insignificant whitish flowers in summer.
